He has been aproved for SSI now but not for his PFFD but for speech issues (stupid SSI People) we have an appointment in Charleston again to get his leg checked out he has a 1 1/2 inch shoe lift added to his left shoe which is helping out less falling but he has a small contracture starting in the back of his legs from walking wrong for the last year befor the shoe lift but atleast now with him Getting SSI we can afford the shoe lifts and get him back down to charleston for check ups would still like to get him into see dr paley in flordia but not sure if we can manage that but happy with dr mooney in charleston as long as hes not going to cut my sons perfect piggys off and can do the leg lengthing surgery later on were good even though paley has more experience Mooney has had a good track record too :) you can look me up on facebook under tara brantley if you'd like to chat

Shanes trying a new ortho

Hello all we have had no hope with ortho Drs or shriners

first they said it was nothing maybe a shoe lift and thats it then he is going to be feet shorter on left side and amputation only option then shriners said it will be 5/ 6 inchs shorter on left side and amputation was the way to go but then they sent report to Ortho and primary Dr that says it is estamited at 3 inches shorter so fed up with stuff going crazy!!!!!

we are unable to travel far cause of money issues were hoping for ssi but denied for that too so I found a medical university in charleston sc they do lengthen their but would like to know whats really going on with shane is he going to be feet foot or inches shorter I will not amputate his toes off unless their was No Other option and ready to go postal on some of these dr who are not even sure how short his leg will be but want to amputate a perfectly good foot he only has a short slightly bowed femur cutting off the foot dosen't fix anything

well sorry had to vent for a min. so 2marrow we will be travling to MUSC Health in charleston SC to see if we can get some better info I'll keep you informed and let ya know if they are a bunch of quacks too please keep your fingers crossed that we get better news

Went to the Ortho today DR. said the word ampatee I lost it shane is15 months old he has a shorter left leg right now 4cm but Dr. seems to think it will be much worse as he gets older said shoe life not an opption and might be able to lengther one leg and shorten the other but not sure if that would help or hurt how do they know at 15 month how much longer or shorter his leg will be by the time he stops growing???? Right now my little man is walking getting into thing and is my perfect little boy but the dr wants me to concider chopping off his foot no decision now but do some soul searching he says... Dr reffered me to Shriners lucky its in the same state (just on the other side of it though) as me but this year has been for crap both my husband and I are out of work don't know how I'm paying any bills forget christmas for my 3 kids then the dr tells me shanes going to be foot less I'm not sure how much more I can handle would love to talk with some parents that could have some insite for me.... do I take my little mans leg now when he has his hole life to get used to having a prosthsis or wait till he almost stops growing to do lenghting and shorting and may still need to appatee his foot or may be it won't be as bad when he gets older how is someone supposed to determ that now when your watching your son walk play climb and can't barley tell somethings wrong with his leg till you take off his cloths and stretch his legs out side by side to see any difference!!! I'm going crazy I can't even imagin shane foot less it hurts so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! e-mail and yahoo is sassycountrygal25@yahoo.com and also have a myspace page at sassycountrygal28 where I have several pics of my family and little man
